Vineyard Food Truck
What it is
This brand new initiative aims to develop & implement a business plan for a lunch truck that serves locally-sourced, healthy foods. This triple-bottom line business will aim to foster economic development, offer job training & business skills to young people (16-22) in our community, provide nutrition education within our communities, and attain economic & environmental sustainability.
Why We're Doing It
In John 10:10, Jesus says that he came so that people would have "rich and satisfying lives." (NLT). This is key to some of our biggest dreams for our church: looking for opportunities to invest our resources to live out & demonstrate this element of Jesus' mission. That's why we talk about making our great city even better and dream about becoming one of the best neighbors that Philly's ever had. So the Vineyard Food Truck is a practical step towards that dream.
How you can get involved
Currently, we are beginning our Summer Market Research project and are looking for a paid team of interns.
The Summer Market Research Project will provide extensive research for business planning purposes and for sharing with the local community, as useful. By developing a team that consists of a graduate level intern, an undergraduate intern, and 3-5 high school students, we aim to collect and analyze data to form a significant portion of the VFT business plan. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following topics:
- Competition Analysis
- Neighborhood Analysis
- Market Demand & Pricing Considerations
- Social Objectives: Nutrition & Youth Empowerment
- Menu Testing
From this research, the intern team will help develop strategic recommendations, participate in the development of a marketing strategy, and work on crafting sections of the business plan.
